Recycled Detritus - Live Diesel in 16mm/foot scale

by Dave Watkins
New pictures for April 2003 - The works, left hand view and right hand view. The fuel tank has been moved to allow room for radio control batteries, receiver and servos. The servo on the left of the locomtoive operates reverse gears and clutch through a sliding cam plate. A second servo operates the throttle. Moving the throttle servo back past idle operates a micro-switch which sounds the horn. The horn from a motor scooter is the circular metal object at the front next to the engine cooling fins.
Pictures of the works as it was in October 1999 from LHS and from RHS. The paintwork was looking the worse for wear!

In 2000, I fitted Detritus with two channel radio control. One channel controls both clutch and forward and reverse gears, whilst the other controls throttle and horn. If I can find the time I will add photos and notes about the controls to these pages.
