Hebrides Holiday 2006
In summer 2006 we joined the Islands on the Edge: St. Kilda
Cruise from Oban aboard MV Chalice. Our Skipper Chris assisted
by crew Kate and Pippa in the galley really pampered us. We feasted
on wonderful fresh organic food. We watched sea birds and looked
out for porpoises, dolphins, whales and basking sharks. We strolled
on shore each day and enjoyed the colour and variety of plants
in the machair and amongst the rocks and bogs. We reflected on
the hard and perilous life of the St. kilda islanders in days
gone. It was a marvellous holiday, very different from anything
we had done before. Here is a short video clip of one of the highlights
of the fortnight when we were entertained in Tobermory Harbour
after dinner by a floor show provided by a group of bottlenose
